Austin and "Uncle C."

Austin stayed with Grandma and Aunt B. while we went to St. Louis for my pre-op appointment on Friday. It looks like he had a good time!
He was knocked out when we picked him up!

He's still doing really well switching between a bottle and breastfeeding. Here's Grandpa Salger feeding him while we were at a wedding on Saturday night.

Sunday was his One Month Birthday! He's doing better in the bath. Although you can't really tell from these pictures!

Today we had his one month check up with Dr. Kellow. Everything went really well! He weighs 11lbs 5oz and is 24 3/4 inches long! He's in the 75 percentile for his weight and longer then 98% of the little boys his age. Maybe we have an Olympic basketball player on our hands! The doctor and nurse warned us about the next appointment. He'll get 4 vaccines -- 3 with a shot and one orally. We stocked up on Tylenol!

I read that babies will sleep 7 hours straight if they are over 11lbs. Last night we put him down at 10:30 and he didn't get up until 5:15! I hope this becomes a pattern!

I can't believe Austin is 4 weeks old today. He celebrated by going to Aunt B.'s for the first time. I also can't believe how fast he's growing. He's outgrown so many things just in the past few days! We tried to put this sleeper on him tonight...He had to go home naked because it wouldn't even snap shut! He decided he wanted to talk on the phone too! Such a sweet little boy!
He's very excited because he gets to spend the day with Grandma and Aunt B tomorrow. Mom and Dad have to go to Mom's pre-op appointment for her gallbladder surgery. I'm sure there won't be any spoiling going on!!

He wasn't too happy when Japan won something...
He had a rough day yesterday. He didn't sleep more then 20 minutes at a time all day long. He finally gave up around 10:30 last night.
The plus side is that he didn't wake up until 5:15!

Enjoying some belly time...He has done really well the past few nights. He goes to bed between 10 - 10:30, wakes up between 2:00 - 3:00, and then again between 6:00 - 7:00. It seems like he's super hungry every other day. Today would be one of those days! He wants to eat every 60 - 90 minutes. Last night he took almost 5oz from a bottle.

Austin was baptized on Saturday night. He was a perfect little baby during church. After church his family helped him celebrate at our house. Here are some pictures from his special day...

Jay and Austin surprised me with the second band for my wedding ring...We're going to have his name and birthday engraved in it. I hope I'm able to wear them soon!

Austin has been busy the past few days...

Helping Aunt B. put stamps on his birth announcements... Drinking from a bottle for the first time...
He did really well with the bottle. We haven't had any problems going back to the "old fashioned" way either!

Today we went shopping with Grandma Salger and Aunt B. Is it me or does he look nervous??

I'm quickly learning that shopping trips (or any other kind of trips) aren't as easy as they used to be. I think we were both wore out by the time we got home...
Dad gave him a manicure this evening. He's braver then I am!

Austin wasn't a fan of his first bath. He screamed the entire time. Hopefully next time is better!
All better once he was nice and warm...

Last night we went out to eat and shopping at Wal-Mart. I think we're going to become speed eaters! He was perfect the entire time, but we were both so nervous!

We're going to give bottle feeding a try this afternoon. Wish us luck!

My baby is growing up right before my eyes. His belly button stump fell off yesterday! We can give him a real bath now that it's gone! We're going to give it a try this afternoon.

His Grandma Kiefer changed his diaper for the first time yesterday afternoon. He thought it would be funny to go #2 WHILE she was changing him!

Austin had so much fun with his visitors on Friday. He was so happy to see Jordan, Jessica, Chris, Isabella, Tammy and Jeannine! Here's a picture of him cleaned up and ready for his friends!
Saturday he got to meet his friend Sofia! He also got to hang out Meghan and Amber. He looked so grown up in his little polo shirt!
We also went to visit Grandpa and Grandma Salger's for the first time. Here's his first look at the milking process...
He was a little fussy during the day on Saturday. We think it might have something to do with the fajitas I had for dinner on Friday night. He seems to be doing much better today.

Can you believe I was two weeks old yesterday?
We celebrated by going to Target. I was a really good boy. I slept the entire time! Here's a picture of me in sleeping in my car seat.
I have a big day today. My mom's work friends are coming to visit us. More importantly -- my friend Isabella is coming! I can't wait!
